Intwined Together

Not two
but one.

a powerful projection
not at all a memory
but more so,

or is it so?

cannot comprehend
would not compute
hurling boulders off a cliff never saved anyone!
and counting beads is no longer in fashion.

  1. Two immediate associations in my mind:

    1. A quote by Aldous Husley: We live together, we act on, and react to, one another; but always and in all circumstances we are by ourselves. The martyrs go hand in hand into the arena; they are crucified alone. Embraced, the lovers desperately try to fuse their insulated ecstasies into a single self-transcendence; in vain. By its very nature every embodied spirit is doomed to suffer and enjoy in solitude. Sensations, feelings, insights, fancies β€” all these are private and, except through symbols and at second hand, incommunicable. We can pool information about experiences, but never the experiences themselves. From family to nation, every human group is a society of island universes.

    2. The Lovers by Magritte, which creeped the hell out of me when I saw it … KG internet is dying, or I would post a link. :p

  2. When you breathe someone’s soul .. you know what breathing/life is all about !

  3. Emily, always an inspiration!
    Errant, dead on!
    thanks πŸ™‚
