On Eid Greetings

first of all, Kul 3am winto b2alf kheir πŸ™‚
imagine a smile with that, or better yet, here’s a photo
Eid Sa'eed everyone

now for the after thoughts. it’s a little sad how the colossal number of mobile phones and facebook accounts has dramatically made the process of eid greetings less than a pleasant thought. its become more of a burden, why? simply because we’re so much dependent on phone messages and facebook wall posts that we are currently using them as a PERSONAL medium for communication. whatever happened to lunch with family? going out with your friends for a coffee and exchanging greetings? whatever happened to people saying kul 3am winta bkheir to me in the elevator? it’s sad! really it is!

what’s even more sad that i had to use my blog to send out greetings. yes, while I’m against using all these electronic mediums to convey what is supposed to be a personal greeting, I’m using it cause it’s so much easier than calling over 300 contacts and sending individualized messages to all the rest. so instead, i called a few people, paid a few people some visits and i’m meeting up with a few others tomorrow for a cup of coffee. and i posted this blog post cause it’s so much easier than to reply to those non-personal “insert a few adjictives here” wall posts.

yes, sorry i said that, but i really don’t care for facebook wall posts and sms messages cause they are NOT PERSONAL. it’s simply an other way of saying, hey, i know you live, and you know that i know that you live, so i have to show some form of greeting cause it’s eid and i can’t go around spending 15 seconds on my laptop, people are nice to each other “yeah right!”. so, if you’re thinking maybe you shouldn’t have sent me a wall post, you’re probably right! if you think that after reading this you should call me, I’d be really happy to pick up the phone! who knows, i might even buy you a cup of coffee or something.

god i feel so much better now that’s off my chest πŸ™‚ don’t get me wrong, some people can’t call cause they don’t have my phone number, some don’t have phone credits, some people have never met me in person, some don’t care enough about me. i’m okay with that, really! for those who really can’t show any other form of greeting, thank you πŸ™‚ really, i mean it! thanks a bunch and kul 3am wintu bkheir.

much love
